Stephanie is a Los Angeles-based freelance photographer with humble beginnings assisting an event photographer in high school for a year. In that year she wet her feet in studio management and maintenance, client services and photographing events. After graduating from UCLA, Stephanie took formal photography courses at Santa Monica College. Her experience, both as an assistant and from her major in cultural anthropology, and her keen interest in finding the meaning to things and telling people’s stories, led to a focus in photojournalism.
Studying and focusing on photojournalism took Stephanie’s photography to another level as she found the idea of telling stories such an impactful experience. The idiom “every picture tells a story” is a mantra she takes to heart every time she photographs. Stephanie is inspired by Cindy Sherman, Diane Arbus, Mary Ellen Mark, and Lauren Greenfield.
What she does when not capturing moments of everyday life: cruising L.A. in her “classic” car, reading, long walks, traveling, and watching t.v. on-line.
